Meet Melvin

Melvin Freeman, the founder and CEO of Data Propulsion Lab, brings a unique blend of technical expertise and non-profit management to the table. A passionate leader, Melvin is driven by the potential of data and technology to unlock opportunities and create a positive impact.

‍His academic background in Applied Physics and Mechanical Engineering (Morehouse College & Columbia University) instilled in him a deep understanding of complex systems. After starting his career in investment banking building new features for investment portfolio analytics tools, Melvin found his true calling in data-driven change management in education.

He's led data initiatives and teams at K-12 school districts, higher education institutions, and non-profit organizations. Melvin's portfolio includes developing data dashboards, architecting data warehouses, and building low-code applications (AirTable, QuickBase, Salesforce, etc.) for unique needs.
